Be Unique... Be Personal...
Pirates have invaded The Barns at Maple Valley Farm!!
Kidding, Kidding... Although that would be my dream event theme right there! I think that would make a great future post... how to elegantly style your event with an upscale pirate vibe :)
These wedding themes, while not pirate, bring the essence of Hawaii to West Virginia!
The first wedding was held a Saturday in July and literally brought the place where the bride and groom fell in love, to their guests. Their favors for the guests were small vials of sand from Hawaii! Their guests were even encouraged to wear Hawaii themed shirts!
The second wedding was held a Saturday in August and was a reception for their family and friends since they got married a few weeks ago in Hawaii! They had a pirate corn hole board (love it!), orchid leis, starfish and seashell centerpieces, custom pink yankee candles for the guests, a nautical garter, and a Makaki'i.
What is a Makaki'i? (Don't worry, I hadn't heard of it either) The bride informed me it is a Hawaiian Warrior Helmet, hung on a car rearview mirror or doorframe of the house to symbolize protection and safety.
We LOVE seeing how couples incorporate bringing a destination for their guests to enjoy without having to hop on a plane!
It's YOUR wedding day, so be as creative, unique, and personal as you want!
